Gray codes and efficient exhaustive generation for several classes of restricted words

2015

We consider Gray codes and efficient exhaustive generating algorithms for the sets belonging to three major classes of restricted words, that are: (1) restricted growth sequences, (2) factor avoiding q-ary words, and (3) pattern avoiding permutations. For the first two classes, our Gray codes (and thus, our generating algorithms) are based on order relations obtained by specializing known order relations; namely Reflected Gray Code (RGC) order and its variations, and we call them Reflected Gray Code based orders. The Gray code and the generating algorithm for the third class are based on Steinhaus-Johnson-Trotter order, that is, order relation induced by Steinhaus-Johnson-Trotter Gray code …

γ‐Agregation operators and some aspects of generalized aggregation problem

2010

We explore questions related to the aggregation operators and aggregation of fuzzy sets. No preliminary knowledge of the aggregation operators theory and of the fuzzy sets theory are required, because all necessary information is given in Section 2. Later we introduce a new class of γ‐aggregation operators, which “ignore” arguments less than γ. Due to this property γ‐aggregation operators simplify the aggregation process and extend the area of possible applications. The second part of the paper is devoted to the generalized aggregation problem. We use the definition of generalized aggregation operator, introduced by A. Takaci in [7], and study the pointwise extension of a γ‐agop. First publ…

The Development of Perceptual Sensitivity to Second-Order Facial Relations in Children

2010

This study investigated children's perceptual ability to process second-order facial relations. In total, 78 children in three age groups (7, 9, and 11 years) and 28 adults were asked to say whether the eyes were the same distance apart in two side-by-side faces. The two faces were similar on all points except the space between the eyes, which was either the same or different, with various degrees of difference. The results showed that the smallest eye spacing children were able to discriminate decreased with age. This ability was sensitive to face orientation (upright or upside-down), and this inversion effect increased with age. It is concluded here that, despite early sensitivity to conf…

Involving fuzzy orders for multi-objective linear programming

2012

This paper presents a solution approach for multi-objective linear programming problem. We propose to involve fuzzy order relations to describe the objective functions where in ”classical” fuzzy approach the membership functions which illustrate how far the concrete point is from the solution of individual problem are studied. Further the global fuzzy order relation is constructed by aggregating the individual fuzzy order relations. Thus the global fuzzy relation contains the information about all objective functions and in the last step we find a maximum in the set of constrains with respect to the global fuzzy order relation. We illustrate this approach by an example.
